This last weekend was spent on a mini-break away with Fraser’s family to celebrate his dad’s birthday. We could only go for the weekend as Fraser had to work Friday and Monday but it was a really nice trip, we had so much fun and the weather was glorious.
We set off for the train station in Edinburgh on an impossibly sunny day, with completely clear, blue skies, it was warm and lovely.
It was a really pleasant train journey up and it only took us an hour to get there. We would be staying in a place near St. Andrews, which was especially interesting for me because I had never been there before.
After some catching up, the weather was still being particularly accommodating, so on the second day we decided to go for a walk.
We were surrounded by beautiful countryside, and it was nice just to chat and enjoy each other’s company.
The most impressive part of the walk was probably the seemingly endless fields of gloriously yellow rapeseed. It provided some great views, and it might sound silly but we just couldn’t get over how yellow it was!
After a while it was time to head back for a fantastic birthday lunch.
Our trip was short but sweet and before we knew it we were back in Edinburgh.
